The Better Swimmers have birthed a new Winnipeg music festival called POP! ET CETERA, which runs from October 07-18th, 2009 + includes performances by acts such as Shout Out Out Out Out, vitaminsforyou, Young Galaxy, Library Voices and Bend Sinister, to name a few. vitaminsforyou returns to Winnipeg / Lo Pub this weekend. First off, Bryce is doing a VFU DJ set at Goodform tonight (edit: GF is canceled / Lo Pub is closed tonight) – then a last minute “secret” show with the full VFU band (again, at Lo Pub) tomorrow/Friday night + finally the VFU live band is playing Gimli’s Alternative Folk Festival on Sunday. Planet SHHH’s older sister/brother Better Swimmers recently re-launched it’s website, which now includes a ‘label’ section. That’s right, as well as promoting shows + dabbling in graphic design The Swimmers are now promoting (mostly, but not limited to) local/CDN music via “the internet.” The first digital release is a new single by homegrown indiedancefuzzrockers, the Crosstown Rivals. The track is called Exits + the EP includes remixes by Vitaminsforyou, Get Famous! + DJ Co-op. Oh, and it’s free!
